Busan Fireworks Festival: from APEC celebration to a Gwangalli autumn
Look only at the sky at Gwangalli and you miss part of the composition. Beginning as a celebration of the 2005 APEC summit, this festival brings the bridge, sea and music into one large stage. Your position changes the experience, not just the size of the fireworks in a photograph.

From a summit celebration to an autumn city ritual
The Korea Tourism Organization traces the event to the APEC celebration in 2005. Its description emphasises bridge lighting, marine effects and music. Our reading is that Busan is not simply a convenient backdrop: the bridge and horizon are part of what makes this particular performance possible.
Instead of asking only how close you can get, ask how much of the bridge-and-sea scene you can see. For one musical passage, consider lowering the phone and watching the whole composition rather than following a single burst through a vertical screen.
Choose a view for the experience you want
Compare the published 2026 regular ticket categories. Price is not a guarantee of a particular sightline or an easy exit.
R
A table-and-chair outing
Regular R ticket: KRW 100,000, with a table and chair. For a group needing a seated evening, assess the seat map, entrance and toilet route together.
S
Chair-based viewing
Regular S ticket: KRW 70,000, with a chair. The KRW 30,000 difference does not imply the same position or service. Compare category locations on the seating map.
SEA
Choosing public beach viewing
Not buying a reserved seat does not mean every part of the beach is freely available. If the open area lacks a clear view, scale back rather than forcing your way through the crowd.
Prices checked on 21 October 2026. Live checkout governs discounts, availability and cancellation. We have not invented a minute-by-minute programme where the published schedule is incomplete.
What you gain by keeping this one evening simple
Our ordinary Gwangalli guide connects a walk and a meal. Festival day is different: staying in one viewing area can be more rewarding than collecting additional night views. If waiting and a late return are not what you want, an ordinary evening at Gwangalli may actually be the better trip.
A half-day built around one viewing area
These plans draw on official announcements. Travel and visit times are suggested allowances for queues and breaks, not field measurements. The event’s current access restrictions and instructions take priority.
01 · 60–90 min for food and preparation
Eat and prepare near Gwangan Station
광안역 부산
Eat, use a toilet and read the entry instructions before joining the beach flow. Leave large luggage at your accommodation rather than assuming event storage exists.

Practical details before you travel
Who this trip suits
Make this a main event if fireworks are a priority and you can manage cold weather and waiting. With small children or limited standing tolerance, examine seating and toilet access first. Free viewing areas do not guarantee a clear view or an available place.
Station to event entrance
Save a walking route from Gwangan or Geumnyeonsan, then follow the access route open on the day. Ticketed-seat entrances may differ from general viewing entrances. Choose one viewing area rather than attempting to move between Gwangalli, Dongbaekseom and Igidae during the event.
Booking, costs and preparation
Use the booking link on the official site and verify date, seat category, entry deadline and cancellation terms. Distinguish public beach viewing from paid seating; budget separately for food, warm layers and transport. Check foreign-card and identification requirements in the actual checkout.
Getting home and managing crowds
Work backwards from the last train needed for every transfer to your accommodation. Show end is not boarding time: leaving the beach and entering a station can take longer than an ordinary walk. Follow crowd marshals and do not move against the flow to change stations or recover a photo spot. Avoid a tight same-night KTX connection.
Rain, cancellation and sold-out alternatives
If cancellation or strong-wind restrictions are announced, replace the beach wait with an indoor stop in Centum City, such as Space Lee Ufan only if it is open on your date. Check exhibition closures and construction; otherwise shorten the outing to a meal in Centum City. This is an alternative day plan, not another fireworks viewpoint.
Questions before you go
Should I add Haeundae on fireworks day?
A morning visit may fit, but a long afternoon transfer can conflict with entry. Put Haeundae on another day if entry and the journey home are your priorities.
Can I store bags or a stroller?
Event storage is not verified here. Arrange hotel storage and ask the organiser about stroller or wheelchair access and evacuation routes.
