START & TRANSPORT
Your first leg and official transport information
Check the actual line and direction, as weekday, weekend and holiday timetables can differ.
Last check before you go
Check closures, bookings and weather. With large bags, arrange storage and a collection time before setting out.
Recheck last trains, transfers, works and lift availability.
Check the origin, interchange and destination separately. Maintenance can change the route, so ask station staff for day-of help.
Times vary by line, direction, weekday, weekend and holiday. For a late trip, verify the last possible interchange too.
The map links named places only. Add your chosen restaurant, performance or rest stop separately. Recheck last trains, works and facility outages with the official operator.

Station access
Using this station: what to check
- 1
Suwon Station
Set Hwaseong Haenggung Palace as your destination before leaving the station. Suwon serves mainline trains and subway Line 1 and the Suin–Bundang Line. If you booked a return train, save its departure station and service type now.
- 2
Suwon Station AK Plaza / Maesan Market
Suwon Cultural Foundation distinguishes the Suwon Station AK Plaza stop across from Exit 7 from Maesan Market at Exit 9. Its access guide also lists the Novotel side at Exit 4 and Suwon Station Transfer Center. Match the exact stop name and direction in your live route; no single exit suits every bus.
- 3
Hwaseong Haenggung Palace
Before boarding, check the direction and the arrival stop shown in your route, such as Hwaseong Haenggung or Paldal-gu Office–Hwaseong Haenggung–Suwon Catholic Sanctuary. The official guide’s roughly five-minute walk is from the arrival stop to the palace, not the bus wait or journey from the station.
- 4
Returning to Suwon Station
Search a new route from the place where you finish. The return stop is not necessarily the same name or bus line on the opposite side of the road. For a booked train, allow for bus waits, road delays and the walk to your platform inside the station.
